Our Traditional Dammuso (Il Dammuso Antico) is one of the two original dammusi that my parents found here in the 1970’s. Built in the traditional style with blocks of local volcanic lava, they transformed it into a comfortable but quaint (35m squared) studio apartment, with a living room, a double bed alcove, and a separate kitchenette. They even created a small bathroom into what used to be a stable. The terrace is furnished with a dining table, chairs and deck-chairs — with an unparalleled view over the bay and across to the lighthouse of Punta Spadillo.
We consider this original house to be the most romantic. It sits farther apart from the other dammusi, to allow for more privacy. Please note that access to the Traditional Dammuso differs from the other houses due to the rather steep entrance.
