Our Traditional Dammuso (Il Dammuso Antico) is one of the two dammusi that my parents found already on the site in the 1970s. Built in the traditional style of blocks of local volcanic lava, they transformed it into a comfortable but compact (just 35m2) studio apartment, with a living room, a double bed set in an alcove, and a separate kitchenette; they even fitted a small bathroom into what used to be the stable. The little terrace, furnished with a dining table, chairs and deck-chairs, has an unparalleled view over the bay and the lighthouse of Punta Spadillo.
We consider the Traditional Dammuso to be our most original, and certainly our most romantic, house. It sits a little apart from the other dammusi, and so is very private.
On arrival, you will be greeted by a basket of fresh fruit and a bottle of our family wine (Sallier de La Tour – Tasca d’Almerita).
Transfer from and to the port or the airport is provided for free. Every apartment is equipped with bed linen and towels. Please ask on booking if you require housekeeping during your stay.
Please note that access by car to the Traditional Dammuso is down a rather steep road that some drivers may prefer to avoid by parking about 150m from the house.
